Terms of Service

Last updated: July 24, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using FindABed ("the platform"), operated by Symbiotech LLC, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These terms apply to all users — social workers, discharge planners, case managers, and care facility operators.

2. What FindABed Is

FindABed is a neutral care placement marketplace operating nationwide, currently launching in Michigan. We provide a directory of licensed care facilities, workflow tools for social workers to track client placements, and tools for providers to manage bed availability and receive referrals.

FindABed is not a licensed healthcare provider, referral agency, or covered entity under HIPAA. We act as a technology platform — a Business Associate when PHI is processed on behalf of covered entities. We do not provide medical advice, clinical services, or direct care. Social workers and case managers retain full professional responsibility for placement decisions.

Search rankings are never influenced by undisclosed paid placement. Featured badges are transparently labeled. Social worker access is free forever.

3. Social Worker Terms

  • Access is free. There is no fee to search, save providers, send referrals, or track client placements — now or in the future.
  • Store only the minimum PHI necessary for placement coordination. Use initials, case IDs, discharge dates, care level, and insurance — nothing more. Do not enter full medical records, diagnoses, Social Security numbers, or medical record numbers.
  • We enforce this rather than only asking for it. FindABed has no field for a patient's full name or date of birth: the intake stores initials and an age, and anything longer than initials is shortened before it is saved. Providers only ever see initials and a case reference.
  • You may only use the platform for legitimate care coordination on behalf of clients under your professional care. Data scraping, bulk export, or commercial redistribution of provider data is prohibited.
  • You represent that you are a licensed or credentialed social worker, discharge planner, case manager, or equivalent professional.
  • Client records are scoped to your account. Do not share login credentials.

4. Provider Terms

  • By claiming a listing, you represent that you are authorized to manage the facility and that all information you provide is accurate and current.
  • Confirm your bed availability at least once every 14 days. You can do this either by replying to our text check-in or by updating your beds in your dashboard — both count equally, and you are never required to use text messaging to stay listed. If 14 days pass with no confirmation, your beds stop being shown as available to social workers until you confirm again. Your listing itself remains visible; only the availability claim expires.
  • Stale or false availability data harms social workers and the patients they serve, and may result in account suspension.
  • Listing on FindABed is free. Optional paid subscription tiers unlock additional features (featured badge, priority placement in search). Subscriptions are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time with no penalty.
  • Listings that are unclaimed, out-of-date, or in violation of these terms may be flagged, hidden, or removed at our discretion.

5. Placement Fee

FindABed is currently running a free pilot — there is currently no placement or referral fee. Listing your facility and receiving confirmed placements is completely free during this period. If a fee is introduced later, it will be disclosed in advance and you will be asked to agree to the updated terms before it takes effect. FindABed does not manipulate search results in exchange for payment or any other consideration.

6. Text Messages (SMS)

Text messaging is optional. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using FindABed, claiming a listing, or receiving referrals — every notification we send by text is also available in your dashboard and by email.

You enroll from your account settings. We then send a confirmation text, and messages begin only after you reply YES to it. This double opt-in means an enrollment you did not complete never results in messages.

What we send

  • Providers — one bed-availability check-in per week, plus a single follow-up later that week if you have not responded, and a notification when a social worker sends a patient referral to your facility. Text messages contain no patient names or clinical detail; referral specifics live behind a private link.
  • Social workers — an alert when a bed matching your saved search criteria becomes available. These are event-driven, so frequency varies.
  • Both — one-time verification codes when you request them. These are transactional and are sent regardless of marketing preferences.

Replying, and when we stop

  • Reply with a number to set your open bed count, or YES if nothing has changed. Referral replies: YES to accept, NO to decline, WAIT 2 to waitlist for two weeks, or AVAIL 3/15 if a bed frees up on that date.
  • Reply HELP for the command list, or see our support page for the full guide.
  • Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time. This applies to the phone number, not the account — if the same number is registered as both a provider and a social worker, STOP ends both. You can also turn texts off in your account settings, and reply START to re-subscribe.
  • We stop on our own if you stop responding. After 17 days with no confirmation we send one final text letting you know we are pausing your check-ins, and then we stop texting. Confirming your beds by any method, including in your dashboard, restarts them. This is separate from the 14-day rule above: your beds stop being advertised at 14 days, and we keep checking in for a few days longer before going quiet.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Newsletter Sponsorship Terms

FindABed publishes a weekly newsletter distributed to subscribing social workers, discharge planners, and care coordinators. Providers and vendors may sponsor newsletter issues subject to the following terms:

  • All sponsored content is clearly labeled as "Sponsored" or "Partner" within the newsletter. FindABed does not publish undisclosed advertising.
  • Sponsors may not include false claims, misleading pricing, or content that disparages other providers or FindABed itself.
  • FindABed reserves the right to reject or remove sponsorship content that violates these guidelines, applicable law, or platform values.
  • Subscriber email addresses are never shared with sponsors. Sponsors receive only aggregate engagement metrics (open rate, click rate).
  • Sponsorship fees are non-refundable once a newsletter issue has been published.

8. Prohibited Use

  • Do not use the platform to solicit clients outside of legitimate care coordination.
  • Do not scrape, copy, or redistribute provider data for commercial purposes.
  • Do not submit false or misleading facility information.
  • Do not use the platform in violation of HIPAA, Michigan Mental Health Code, or any applicable state or federal privacy law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

FindABed provides facility data as a convenience. We do not verify current licensing status, bed counts, or clinical quality of listed providers. We make no warranty that any provider is appropriate for any particular patient.

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Symbiotech LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including but not limited to adverse patient outcomes, missed placements, incorrect bed availability data, or billing disputes between providers and payers.

Our total aggregate liability to any user for any cause shall not exceed the amounts paid by that user to FindABed in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, submit false information, or engage in conduct harmful to patients, providers, or the platform. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Livingston County, Michigan.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
